Vocational training in the form of various courses has been started since last one year with an aim to enable the young entrepreneurs to do exemplary work for the development of the textile industry and develop the economy of the country through it.

Vocational training has been initiated by Dakshin Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry as part of various courses with an aim to introduce entrepreneurs to the entire value addition chain of Surat Textile Industry. Vocational training is being provided by developing various courses from the beginning of the year 2021-22, new courses are being designed after wide feedback and not only the entrepreneurs but also the youth are being trained to become proficient in the textile industry and other sectors. being done.

Chamber President Ashish Gujrathi said that since the beginning of the year, the Chamber has endeavored to acquaint the young entrepreneurs involved in the textile sector with the grassroots knowledge of the entire value addition chain from powerlooms to processing units. As part of which the chamber includes ‘Fabric Identification’, ‘Conventional Weaving’, ‘Textile Fibers and Yarns’, ‘Dobby and Jacquard Designing’, ‘Textile Yarn’, ‘Rapier Weaving’, ‘Textile at a Glance’ and ‘Fabric Analysis’. Certificate in ‘. Presently 14th batch of Fabric Identification Certification Course is going on. While the third batch of ‘Textile Yarn’ is going on. So far 614 students have availed the Chamber’s certificate course.

Entrepreneurs are being provided information about all types of clothing through these courses. They can identify the fabric well and produce the fabric which is in demand in the global market. So that young entrepreneurs can do exemplary work for the development of the textile industry and through this the economy of the country can also develop. At the same time, with the aim of providing industry-oriented information to the youth venturing into new areas of the industry, these certificate courses are being run for the last one year.

In these various certificate courses, not only young entrepreneurs but also some chartered accountants, MBA students, engineers, graduates and young children from families involved in the textile industry over the years got vocational training. Chartered Accountants also found that the Textile Certificate at a Glance is very useful in understanding the entire value addition chain of the Textile Industry.

Apart from this, under the Sankalp project started by the Training and Placement Department under the Gujarat Skill Development Mission (GSDM) of the state government, building construction has started in Nanpura to provide skilled manpower to industries as well as to provide skills to the youth of the state. has been done. Where skill development courses in apparel sector have been started by the Chamber under the Sankalp Project of the Government of Gujarat. Assistant Designer, Export Assistant and In-line Checker courses are being taught for Apparel Sector and Textile Designer, Fabric Checker and Packing Checker courses are being taught in Textile Sector.
