WTC 2023 final can be played in Mecca of cricket

New Delhi | WTC Final Lords : The World Test Championship (WTC) final has been debated for a long time and now there are indications that the final match may be held at the historic ground of Lord’s. The International Cricket Council (ICC) is currently considering organizing the final match at Lord’s. The final match of the WTC played last year was to be played at Lord’s but due to the Corona epidemic it was played in Southampton. At that time, Corona related restrictions were being removed in the UK. This is the reason why the final match could not be played at Lord’s even at that time. At that time, New Zealand became the first World Test champion by defeating India.

Hopes have risen after relief from Corona…

WTC Final Lords : Now that all Corona restrictions have been lifted in the UK and the bio-bubble relief is being given, the ICC hopes to be able to organize the final at Lord’s. ICC President Gregg Barclay was present on the BBC’s Test Match Special program during the tea break on the second day of the ongoing Test match between England and New Zealand. He said that I think it (the final match) is scheduled at Lord’s as per our expectation.

Announcement can be made in the annual meeting

WTC Final Lords : IThe CC president said that being the month of June, other grounds are similarly excluded from the list of potential hosts. We have come out of Kovid. The intention is that if we can organize all the events, then this match will be played at Lord’s only. There is still some work to be done before finalizing this decision. However, the ICC is hoping to announce the venue at its annual meeting next month.
