After the Corona epidemic, the world may have been in recovery mode since 2021, but the epidemic dragged on for a long time for the car market. The reason for this was the shortage of semiconductors. The supply chain stagnation across the world had an impact on the Indian car market as well. But after the half year of 2022, now the situation seems to be improving. Car sales have been increasing for the past one quarter.

Meanwhile, South Korean auto major Hyundai is expected to achieve the highest ever sales figures in the Indian market this year due to removal of supply constraints. Tarun Garg, Director (Sales, Marketing and Service), Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) expressed this possibility. He said that the sales of vehicles are expected to be very good with the improvement in semiconductor supply. Apart from this, the company also expects a pick-up in demand in the coming season.

Increased supply of semi conductor

Due to the Corona epidemic, the supply of semiconductors from China and countries of South East Asia had stopped. Due to this, the sale of cars in India also fell flat. Semi-conductor Garg said, “The situation of semiconductors is getting better now and the trend of strengthening of demand is also going on. This year we are confident that we will be able to achieve our best sales figures in the Indian market.

The company sold the most vehicles in 2018

Hyundai’s highest ever sales figure in India stood at 5.5 lakh vehicles in 2018. The company wholesaled 49,510 vehicles in the month of August, a growth of six per cent over a year ago. Apart from this, the pending orders of various models of the company have also increased to 1.3 lakh.

Hyundai Venue N Line Edition Launched

Hyundai on Tuesday expanded its presence in the SUV segment with the launch of the N Line variant of its mid-sized SUV Venue. Hyundai currently sells Venue, Creta, Alcazar, Tusson and Kona electric models in the SUV segment. Garg said the share of the SUV segment in the total sales has been growing steadily and Hyundai is in a better position than other auto majors. “SUVs account for 53 per cent of Hyundai’s domestic sales as against the industry average of 41 per cent,” he said.
