So far 10 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been procured in Chhattisgarh

Raipur. In Chhattisgarh, the process of purchasing paddy on the support price is going on. So far 10 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been procured in the state. This time it is estimated that the government will procure 110 lakh metric tonnes of paddy from the farmers. In the information provided officially, it has been told that the process of procurement of paddy from the farmers in the state has started from November 1. So far in 21 days, the paddy procurement figure has crossed 10 lakh metric tonnes. In lieu of paddy purchase, an amount of more than 2100 crores has been paid to the farmers. Along with the purchase of paddy, procurement is going on for Custom Milling.

So far, more than four lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been lifted from the committees. This order of paddy purchase will continue till January 31. The ‘Token Tunhar Hath’ app has been created by the Government of Chhattisgarh for the convenience of farmers selling paddy. Through this farmers can get online token. Apart from this, tokens are being given in advance in a manual way, as a result of which the work of buying paddy of the farmers is being done conveniently. Food Department Secretary Topeshwar Verma said that 10 lakh 13 thousand 880 metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased from farmers on support price in 21 days of purchase of paddy on support price.

So far, an amount of Rs 2109.81 crore has been released to three lakh 229 farmers in lieu of paddy under the bank linking system. The Food Secretary said that in the current season, 25.92 lakh farmers have been registered in the state to sell paddy at the state support price, in which about 2.21 lakh are new farmers. 2560 procurement centers have been set up for paddy purchase in the state. This year, normal paddy is being purchased from farmers at the rate of Rs 2040 per quintal and grade-A paddy at Rs 2060 per quintal. (IANS)
