In collaboration with Gujarat State Non-Resident Gujarati Foundation and Chamber of Commerce and NRG Center as well as Sri Tapi Brahmacharyaashram Sabha, Surat, guidance was given to young women who wish to get married abroad.

A joint venture of Gujarat State Non-Resident Gujarati Foundation and South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry and NRG Center Surat, as part of the 75th anniversary of India’s independence, in association with Sri Tapi Brahmacharyashram Sabha, Surat, Sri Swami Atmanand Saraswati Institute of Technology, ‘NRI Marriage Awareness Seminar’ was organized in the Seminar Hall of Varachha Road. In which advocate Preetiben Joshi of the Supreme Court of India gave special guidance to the young women who want to get married abroad.

Utsav Bhatt, Mamlatdar of Gujarat State Non-Resident Gujarati Foundation, said that this center is working in Gandhinagar with the objective of a one step solution for Gujaratis living in India and abroad outside the state of Gujarat. Gujarati cards are issued to non-resident Gujaratis, which have been issued to 26,000 people so far. So that they are given discounts for shopping and other facilities are available at various places in Gujarat. Along with this, he informed the elders about the Gujarat cruise plan and the tour of Gujarat.

Advocate Preetiben Joshi said that while the practice of marriage of daughters has increased in foreign countries, there are many things that need to be taken care of. It is especially important to understand the language of the country in which the daughter is to be married. Food and culture should be taken care of. Because after marriage one has to adopt a foreign culture. Then there is the matter of lifestyle. Everyone is busy in their own work abroad. Therefore, it is not known who lives in the neighborhood. Contact with parents or other family members living in India is not possible due to time zone difference. Apart from this, you have to adjust with the home environment abroad. Keeping all these things in mind, daughters should consider getting married abroad.

Whether the age of the boy before marriage, family, his education, employment, residence, is involved in any offence? And if someone has gone abroad for a job with a visa, the exact type of visa etc. must be obtained. The profiles posted by young people on social media make daughters attracted to materialism and sometimes become victims of fraud. He also advised young women to be careful in chatting with strangers on social media.

Sometimes a young woman is married off just to do household chores and there have been cases where her husband is already married to another girl. So no one should accept marriage proposal immediately and he advised the young women to think a hundred times before signing any paper.

Elected Vice-President of the Chamber, Ramesh Vaghasiya delivered the welcome address in the seminar and also introduced the Speaker. The seminar was conducted by Nilesh Gajera, co-chairman of the NRG Committee of the Chamber. In the end, Chairman of NRG Committee of the Chamber, Kalpesh Lathia concluded the seminar by thanking the surveyors.
