Chamber of Commerce team with Forest Man of India and Padma Shri awardee Dr. Jadav Payeng (Molai)

President of Chamber of Commerce Himanshu Bodawala while delivering the welcome address said that just as industrial development is necessary, environmental balance is also necessary. For that we all have to wake up ourselves and if we do not wake up then the life of the coming generation will be in danger in the coming times. For the balance of the environment, forests have to be grown and it is not the responsibility of one but the responsibility of all. He urged everyone present in the session to take a pledge to plant trees on their birthdays on this occasion.

Dr. Jadav Payeng (Molai) said that there is God in nature, so nature should be protected. He started planting trees because he loves animals and birds. He used to wake up early at 3:00 in the morning and plant saplings on the vacant barren land after covering a distance of three kilometers from the house. Today, after 40 years, a huge forest has grown on 550 hectares of land. A large number of animals and birds live in this Molai forest. Students from the US, China, Thailand and Taiwan are visiting this forest and researching climate change.

India’s forest man Jadav Payeng’s request to not cut a cake on his birthday, but to plant a tree

When industries have developed in Surat, trees should be planted on the vacant land. After planting a sapling, it can become a tree only if we take proper care for its safety. When I visit countries in the world like France and Dubai, I especially request students to plant trees. I also request the school-college management to plant a tree near the admitted student whenever there is a new admission. If the environment is to be saved, then tree plantation has to be brought in the education system as well. The next generation will be able to survive only when forests have to be planted on the vacant/barren land of India. If we do not plant trees, animals and birds will die due to lack of oxygen and humans will not be out of it. So he requested the students and people present in the session not to cut the cake on the birthday but plant a tree and give a sapling to others also.

A tree selflessly gives a value of one crore in 100 years

Ashwin Desai said that Dr. Jadav is an inspiration not only in India but across the world. Puneet Nayyar said that according to the UN report the sea level rises by 3 mm every year due to deforestation. In addition, the fertility of the top soil is depleted. A tree selflessly gives a value of one crore in 100 years. That is why we have to save the environment by planting trees and plants for the coming generation. Dr. Jigyasa Ojha said, Earth and society have given us a lot. That is why we also have to give a good environment to the earth by planting trees.

A tree plantation program was organized in Sarsana from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM along with ‘Forest Man of India’ Dr. Jadav Payeng (Molai). In which about 20 school-college students of the city planted saplings with Dr. Jadav Payeng and also got tips on planting different types of plants and taking care of them on time.
