Sheryl Sandberg, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Facebook-owned company Meta, a social networking platform, has announced her resignation. Sandberg, who played a key role in transforming Facebook from a startup to a digital leader, announced she would step down on Wednesday after holding the position for 14 years.

He has written a long post on his Facebook page about his resignation. Sandberg said that now the time has come for a new chapter in life. She joined the company in 2008, four years before Facebook went public. During this long tenure, Sandberg handled Facebook’s digital advertising business very well.

Big role in making Facebook shine

He is considered to be instrumental in turning Facebook into a $100 billion business. For this reason, Sandberg has been the second most important place in the company after Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.

Zuckerberg told this would be the new COO

Zuckerberg said in his Facebook post that Javier Olivan will take over as Meta’s new COO. Till now he was looking after the functioning of Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger app.
