Russian army entered the largest city of Donbass

Kyiv, The Russian invasion of Ukraine is about to complete a hundred days and now the Russian army is rapidly attacking and capturing major cities of Ukraine. Russia is attacking the Donbass region of eastern Ukraine. It is reported that the Russian army has entered Svyrodonetsk, the largest city of the Donbass. For the past few days, news was coming that the Russian army was tightening its grip on this city. Luhansk Governor Serhi Gaidai confirmed this on Monday.

It is reported that fierce fighting is going on between the armies of Russia and Ukraine in Svyrodonetsk, causing heavy damage to the city. Most of the citizens from the city have fled to safer places, those who are left are in trouble. There has been a shortage of food items and other essential items due to the fierce fighting going on for the last several weeks.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that the capture of Svyrodonetsk was the main objective of the Russian attackers. He will do everything possible to get it. Significantly, 90 percent of this city has been destroyed. Two-thirds of the residential buildings are completely destroyed. Meanwhile, in Moscow, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said that the independence of the Donbass is Moscow’s top priority.

It is noteworthy that the capture of the cities of Svirodonetsk and Lisichansk on both sides of the Siversky Donets River would pass the control of Luhansk province to Russia. On the other hand, the efforts of the Ukrainian army have intensified to take back the city of Kherson, which was under Russian occupation. Ukraine says it has regained control of three villages in the region by pushing back Russian forces.

On the one hand, Russia is fighting for the occupation of eastern Ukraine, on the other hand the countries of Europe and America are considering imposing new sanctions on Russia to help Ukraine. EU leaders will meet again in Brussels on Tuesday to consider new sanctions on Russia. During this time a decision can be taken to cut oil imports.
