The murder of Punjabi singer Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu aka Sidhu Moose Wala has enough arguments to put the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab in the dock. Had this been the only such incident in the recent past, the government could have been given the benefit of the doubt by treating it as just a bad coincidence. But the reality is that ever since the Bhagwant Mann government came to power, Punjab is witnessing a new kind of chaos. It seems that the whole system is collapsing there. Openly shouting slogans in favor of Khalistan on the streets and openly violent confrontation between supporters and opponents of alleged Khalistan is one aspect of this situation. The other side is being seen in the form of a decline in the general administration. In the case of Moose Wala, the government is under question because it has decided to withdraw the security already given to him. As a result, it is clear that the government’s ability to assess security or its system is very weak.
Whether famous people should get government protection or not is a debatable issue. If it should not be found, then it should be taken back from the country’s biggest industrialist to the politician sitting in high positions.
