PM Modi govt 8 years: In the 1980s, Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi had said that whenever the government spends 1 rupee, only 15 paise reaches the people. This is the biggest confession on corruption by any prime minister. But after almost 4 decades, now the people of India are not dependent on middlemen for their own money. Now he has his own account ‘Jan Dhan Account’.

After assuming power in 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi started the Jan Dhan Account Scheme as part of the biggest reform in the field of banking in the country. It has been 8 years since this mega scheme started on 28 August 2014. During this, so far 45.41 crore beneficiaries have deposited an amount of Rs 167,145.80 crore in their Jan Dhan accounts in banks.

What is Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana

The Prime Minister Jan Dhan Yojana was launched by the Modi government in its first term. Under this scheme, the account of the poor of the country is opened on balance in banks, post offices and nationalized banks. The accounts to which the Aadhar card will be linked are given overdraft facility after 6 months, accident insurance cover of Rs 2 lakh, life cover along with many facilities. So far more than 45 crore accounts have been opened across the country under the Jan Dhan account scheme. . The government can further help the poor through this account.

Every Indian’s own account

It was started to link every Indian citizen with bank accounts for the purpose of saving money in a secure manner. About 1 crore bank accounts were opened on the very first day of the launch of this scheme. Jan Dhan Yojana is considered to be the biggest banking campaign in world history.

The benefit of direct benefit received during Corona

The government today directly deposits money into the account of the beneficiaries under its various welfare schemes. In today’s time, under 313 schemes of 53 ministries of the Government of India, it directly deposits money in the accounts of the beneficiaries. Without Jan Dhan account this would not have been possible. Today, under PM Kisan Yojana, 6000 rupees have to be sent per year, or the amount of nutritional food has to be provided to the women. All work is possible because of Jan Dhan accounts. Now the government can directly transfer money to the account of the poor without any middleman.

Allegations made during demonetisation

When Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced demonetisation in November 2016, all eyes were on Jan Dhan accounts. Common people had their own accounts, due to which people could easily deposit their old currency in banks. During this, there was a surprising increase in the amount deposited in Jan Dhan accounts. Meanwhile, there were allegations of corruption on these Jan Dhan accounts.
