Phalke Award for Asha Parekh

Announcing the decision of the Jury of the 52nd Dadasaheb Phalke Award, Union Minister Anurag Thakur on Tuesday said that the Dadasaheb Phalke Selection Jury decided to recognize and award Asha Parekh ji for her exemplary life-long contribution to Indian cinema. Is.

Shri Thakur also announced that the 68th National Film Awards will be held in New Delhi on 30th September and will be presided over by the President of India Draupadi Murmu. Apart from acting in films, Ms. Asha Parekh also enriched Indian cinema in the role of director and producer. She has also left an indelible mark on the minds of cinema and choreography lovers as an accomplished Indian classical dancer.

Starting her career as a child artist, she made her debut as the lead heroine in Dil Deke Dekho and acted in more than 95 films. He has also done memorable performances in famous films like Teesri Manzil, Aaya Sawan Jhoom Ke, Aan Milo Sajna, Mera Gaon Mera Desh.

The decision to confer the Phalke Award to Ms. Parekh was taken by a five-member jury. Ms. Asha Bhosle, Ms. Hema Malini, Ms. Poonam Dhillon, Mr. T.S. Nagbharan, Shri Udit Narayan were present. Asha Parekh was awarded the Padma Shri in 1992. He has also served as the head of the Central Board of Film Certification from 1998-2001.
