Pakistan out of FATF gray list

New Delhi, Pakistan has got another big relief only after a few days of getting financial help from America. The Financial Action Task Force, FATF, an organization to prevent financial aid to terrorists and terrorist organizations around the world and to check money laundering, has removed Pakistan from its gray list. This is a big relief for Pakistan because now it will be easy to get financial help and loans etc. from international institutions.

Four years after being put on the gray list by the FATF, a Paris-based body that oversees terrorist organizations and anti-money laundering, finally removed Pakistan’s name from the list. The decision was taken during the FATF meeting held in Paris. The meeting took place from 18 to 21 October. The FATF had put Pakistan on the gray list four years ago for its failure to curb money laundering and terror funding.

This decision of FATF will help Pakistan to get foreign funding and it will be able to improve its economic condition. In a statement issued by FATF, it has been said that Pakistan is no longer under the monitoring process of FATF. The Paris-based international body welcomed the significant progress made by Pakistan in combating money laundering, financial terrorism, the statement said. It has been said by the FATF that Pakistan has strengthened efforts against money laundering, it is fighting terrorism funding.
