Pakistan: Strange order for crew members to wear undergarments in flight
PIA General Manager Aamir Bashir gave this order in a memorandum issued
Every day such news keeps coming from our neighboring country Pakistan, on hearing which people are either surprised and sometimes they laugh. Now the same thing has happened once again. A special order has been announced in a report related to Pakistan Airlines. The announcement was made by Pakistan’s national air carrier Pakistan International Airlines. Airlines have made it a rule that crew members are required to wear undergarments on the flight.
Surprised by strange order
According to a report in Geo News, in a memorandum issued by PIA General Manager Amir Bashir, it has been observed that the cabin crew members wear more comfortable clothes whenever they travel intercity. They are seen in casual look when traveling or going for a walk. Which brings bad name to the airline company. Members should take care to wear clothes that respect the culture and customs of their country. Cabin crew members are required to wear undergarments in flight and wear the formal uniform of law.”

The order also states that the grooming officer should at all times monitor the clothing of the cabin crew members and advise on non-compliance. The letter also said that the matter should be resolved at the earliest keeping in mind the safety of the people, as long working hours by pilots and air hostess can lead to accidents. The federation had sent a similar letter to the Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority two years ago as well.
Let us inform that the uniform of PIA’s air hostess was first designed by famous French designer Pierre Cardin. A long green dress with white cuffs and collar was introduced in 1950 with a white salwar and dupatta. It also had a green cap with it. After that many changes took place. The last change in her dress took place in the year 2016.
