A senior BCCI official said, “Don’t know how it happened. The players are in a tight bio-bubble here and we have asked them to take more precautions now. We hope that no further cases come to the fore, affecting the tournament.” We are worried, but there is nothing to panic for now. Let’s hope for the best.”

When asked whether it was the right decision to allow spectators inside the stadium. “Sunrisers Hyderabad played their first match on Wednesday and Natarajan tested positive earlier. The entire team was in a tight bubble,” the official said.

Along with Natarajan, six people who came close to him have been isolated. These include all-rounder Vijay Shankar. However, the BCCI had decided to hold the match after other players came to test negative.
