Jammu. The Urdu Department of Jammu University organized the first ever ‘Alumni Meet’, which witnessed a huge crowd. The alumni expressed their views on their experiences and their role in the development of Urdu. Welcoming the alumni, Professor Mohd Riaz Ahmed, Chairman, Department of Urdu said that the aim of the meeting was to bring the alumni on one platform. He said, today you can share memories and experiences related to the department here, as well as discuss the development of Urdu language.
The alumni spoke about their experiences and memories on the occasion. The alumni meeting should be held twice a year. So that the alumni can decide the future plan for the development of Urdu language. The speakers agreed to form the Alumni Association. The teachers of the department Chaman Lal, Abdul Rashid Minhas and Farhat Shamim also expressed their views. Eminent writer T. Arena expressed his views on the present condition of Urdu. Javedirahi said that the alumni of the Urdu department should play an active role in the development of Urdu. (IANS)
