  • Do not overuse broadcast lists
  • Think twice before forwarding the message

WhatsApp: Are you unknowingly harassing your contacts by sending too many good morning messages? Forwarding unverified information. Or are using WhatsApp Broadcast excessively. If any such activity is involved in this which violates the terms and conditions of the company, then the risk of your account getting banned increases. For example, if such a message is spam or if the security of the user of WhatsApp is at risk, then your account may be banned. According to WhatsApp’s monthly user safety report, more than 2.3 million Indian accounts were banned in August alone.

To avoid getting banned, keep these things in mind

  1. Think twice before forwarding the message. Don’t forward a message if you’re not sure whether it’s true or not, or if you don’t know its source.
  2. Do not forward automated or bulk messages. Do not bulk message, auto message, or auto dial via WhatsApp. WhatsApp uses user reports and machine learning technology to identify and block accounts that send unsolicited automated messages.
  3. Do not overuse the broadcast list. Messages sent using Broadcast List are received only if users have added your phone number to their contact list. Repeated use of broadcast messages may cause people to complain about your messages. The accounts about which complaints are received many times, WhatsApp bans them.
  4. If you add a person to the group and he removes himself, then respect his decision. If a contact tells you not to message them, you should remove that contact from your address book and never contact them again.
  5. Only send messages to people who have already contacted you or ask you to contact them on WhatsApp.
  6. Keep in mind that any account ban is a violation of WhatsApp’s Terms of Service, which includes spreading false information and doing illegal acts, defaming, making inflammatory statements, sending harassing messages. Never make this mistake.

If the account has been banned by mistake, do the following:

Email WhatsApp or tap Request Review in the app. WhatsApp will look into your case and get back to you immediately after the review is complete. When you request a review in the app, you will be asked to enter the 6 digit registration code sent by SMS. After entering the registration code, you have to enter your request for review. After this, WhatsApp will review and remove the ban.
