Woman dies due to fire in flat in Gurugram

Gurugram. A fire broke out in the flat of a society located on MG Road in Gurugram, Haryana in the early hours of Thursday. An elderly woman died due to suffocation in the incident.

Fire officials said that four fire tenders were sent to the spot to douse the blaze and three people were evacuated from the flat. He told that the elderly woman (65) died in the hospital. According to fire officials, the fire broke out around 3.30 am in a flat on the ninth floor of the building located at Orlov Court-2 of Essel Tower.

At that time Vinay Kumari Gupta, her father and mother Pushpa Gupta were sleeping and they were trapped inside the flat while smoke filled the entire building. As soon as the smoke spread, the family informed the security guard and called the fire brigade. The fire brigade rescued Vinay Kumari Gupta and his father and brought the fire under control after an hour-long effort. Deputy Fire Officer Rajesh Kumar said, “The rescued after dousing the fire said that a woman named Pushpa Gupta is still inside the flat and we started searching for her.” After a few minutes, she was found unconscious in a bathroom near the balcony of the flat. He said he was taken to the hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. He died of suffocation.
