Starbucks CEO: of Indian origin Laxman Narasimhan Has been appointed as the next Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of coffee company Starbucks. He is currently the CEO of Reckitt Benckiser, a UK health and nutrition company. Starbucks announced on Thursday that 55-year-old Narasimhan will be the company’s next CEO and will also be a member of Starbucks’ board of directors.

Will resign from the old company at the end of the month

Narasimhan will join the company as its next CEO from October 1, 2022, and will work alongside interim CEO Howard Schultz. He will join the board of directors and in a leadership role from April 1, 2023. Reckitt Benckiser said in a statement on Thursday that Narasimhan would step down as CEO on 30 September 2022. Narasimhan said in a statement that he is delighted to be associated with the global coffee company.

30 years experience

According to a Starbucks statement, “Narasimhan has nearly 30 years of experience leading and advising brands in global consumer affairs. His aim is to grow the brands and take them to new heights. Understanding the digital age, he has been successful in working better on it.

Who is Narasimhan?

Narasimhan, 55, holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the College of Engineering, University of Pune (now Savitribai Phule Pune University). He was previously the CEO of Reckitt Benckiser, a UK-based multinational consumer health company. Starbucks, headquartered in Seattle, is the largest coffeehouse company in the world. He also received an MA in German and International Studies from The Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania. He has an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

How was your career?

Narasimhan started his career when he joined McKinsey and worked there for 19 years till 2012. There he worked as a Senior Partner, where he focused on his consumer, retail and technology practices in the Americas, Asia and India. He was also given the responsibility of leading the firm’s thinking on the future of retail. In 2012, he started a new innings as CEO of PepsiCo Latin America and CFO of PepsiCo America Foods.
