Chaibasa. A case of alleged gang rape of a software engineer girl by around ten people has come to light near the airport in West Singhbhum district headquarters of Jharkhand’s Chaibasa.
Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Shekhar said that a case of gang rape has been registered against 9-10 unknown people by the girl. He said that the girl’s medical examination was conducted in which after confirming the rape, raids are being conducted to arrest the culprits. The victim is a resident of Jhinkpani and is a software engineer in Bangalore and currently she was living in a rented house at Kamarhatu in Chaibasa city from where she was doing her work through ‘Work from Home’.
On the basis of the case registered, the police said that on Thursday evening, the girl had gone to the airport with a friend, where they were talking to each other by parking a scooty, when 9-10 unknown youths came there and accompanied the young man. After beating her, snatched her mobile and cash and gang-raped the girl. Officials said that the victim and her friend reached Mufassil police station after the incident and informed about the incident. Police said that some people have been taken into custody for questioning. (Language)
