World population crossed 8 billion

According to the latest report of the United Nations, today i.e. on Tuesday, the world’s population has crossed 8 billion. The biggest contribution in this is from Asian countries India and China. India and China are the most populated countries in the world. The report further states that the global population could reach around 8.5 billion by 2030, 9.7 billion by 2050 and 10.4 billion by 2100. Not only this, India’s population will overtake China next year by 2023. This UN report is very important in the midst of ever-increasing population and diminishing resources.

Slowest population growth rate since 1950

Let us tell you that one thing that is important in the annual World Population Prospect Report released on Monday is that the global population is growing at its slowest rate since 1950. The current population growth rate was reduced to less than one percent in 2020. At the same time, the report said that the eight countries that will have the majority of the projected population growth by 2050 include the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Philippines and Tanzania.

One billion population increased in just so many years

Let us tell you that according to the latest UN report, the global population in the year 2010 was 7 billion and in 2022 it has reached 8 billion. In such a situation, it took only 12 years to increase the population of one billion. This pace of population growth is very worrying. However, due to the low growth rate of population, it is estimated that it will take 15 more years for the population to reach 9 billion i.e. by 2037 the world population will be 9 billion.

Average age will increase by 2050

Population growth is partly due to a fall in the death rate. Globally, the median age in 2019 was 72.8 years. There has been an increase in the mean age of about 9 years since 1990. As a result of further reduction in mortality, the average age globally is projected to be around 77.2 years in 2050.
