Fine On Twitter : Twitter is alleged to have violated a 2011 FTC order by defrauding users. People were told by Twitter that it protects the confidentiality of their non-public contact information. The government alleged that from May 2013 to September 2019, Twitter told users that it was collecting their phone numbers and email addresses for account security purposes, but the company failed to disclose that it was using this information. It will also be used to enable companies to send targeted online advertisements to users on the Platform.

After which the company has now agreed to pay 15 crores as agreement and fine.
