Shinde faction replied in Supreme Court

New Delhi. The ongoing war over the control of Shiv Sena in Maharashtra has reached the Supreme Court, where the hearing to be held on August 1 has been postponed. The matter will now come up for hearing on August 3. Meanwhile, the Eknath Shinde faction has filed its reply in the Supreme Court. In this, a demand has been made to reject the application of the Uddhav Thackeray faction. The Shinde faction says that the relief sought by the Uddhav camp to restore the status quo on June 27 should not be given as Uddhav has already resigned from the post of Chief Minister.

The Shinde faction has said that the petition has been filed by people on behalf of a chief minister who has lost the confidence of his own party. It also states that the court should not interfere in the issue of internal divisions of the party which is done democratically. The Shinde faction has said- In the parliamentary form of democracy, the faction which has given a majority cannot coerce itself to test the legality or illegality of any action.

In the reply given in the Supreme Court, Shinde faction has said – Uddhav Thackeray faction is trying to challenge democratic decisions. In fact the Uddhav faction through these petitions is trying to challenge the democratic decisions made by the members of a democratic party of their own free will. The matter will come up for hearing on August 3. Shinde faction in its reply has said that the faction of 15 MLAs cannot disqualify the faction of 39 MLAs. It has also been said that only the Election Commission of India can decide who is the real Shiv Sena.
