Russia will not reduce oil prices

Moscow. Russia is not caring about any kind of pressure from America and Western countries. Its Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has once again reiterated the threat of a nuclear attack, while President Vladimir Putin himself has said that his country will not reduce oil prices. On the other hand, there is news that the US has expressed displeasure with Saudi Arabia over the decision to keep oil production low and indicating a review of relations, saying that Saudi Arabia is acting according to Russia.

However, Russian President Vladimir Putin made it clear on Wednesday that his country will not sell oil at a low price under any circumstances. Putin’s statement comes at a time when G-7 countries have promised to impose a cap on the price of Russian oil sold around the world. After the announcement of the G-7 countries, Putin said that no matter what rules they make, but Russia will not sell its oil at a low price.

Speaking at the Russian state media RT’s Russian Energy Week 2022 event, Putin said – I have to say that Russia will not act against our own interests. We will not try to dilute our position by offering oil or gas at a lower price. Referring to the G-7 countries, he said – no, we will not bow down to them. We will not follow the rules set by others. We will not work to our detriment.

Significantly, Western countries are trying to snatch Russia’s biggest source of income from it. According to a Euronews report, the war in Ukraine is nearing its eighth month, with no solution being found. In such a situation, Western countries suspect that Russia is intensifying the war with its profits from continued oil sales. Keep in mind that more than 40 percent of Russia’s budget comes from oil. If the G-7 imposes a cap on the price of oil, then Russia will not be able to sell it in other countries of the world at a higher price.
