Rohit Sharma Statement: So far, the performance of Mumbai Indians (MI) team in the second phase of IPL (IPL 2021) has been disappointing. The team has lost all three matches so far. After losing the match against RCB, captain Rohit Sharma lashed out at the batsmen. He is unhappy with the performance of the batsmen and he seems to be losing his patience. He expressed his disappointment after a 54-run defeat at the hands of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Sunday. However, during this he praised the bowlers.

Know what Captain Rohit Sharma said
Rohit said, “I thought it was a great bowling effort from our side. At one point it looked like RCB would score more than 180 runs. The batsmen let us down and this is something that is happening continuously. We have had talks with the batsmen. We have to make sure we go ahead. I got out playing a bad shot. I thought it was a game changing moment. After a couple of wickets fell, they kept the pressure on us.”

He said, “Whatever position we are in, we need to come back from it. We have done that in the past. It is not happening this season. Ishan Kishan is a talented player. He had a great IPL last year. We want to support them.” Significantly, till the time Rohit Sharma was batting in the last match, the match was in the hands of Mumbai, but after his dismissal, the whole team was shattered and chasing the target of 166 runs was all out for 111 runs.

Mumbai slips to number seven in the points table
Mumbai has slipped to the seventh position in the points table with eight points out of 10 after losing three matches in a row. Mumbai’s performance in the first phase of IPL was good, but in the second phase, the team has been derailed. If the team is unable to register a win in the next matches, it will be out of the race for the playoffs. Mumbai will next face Punjab Kings on 28 September at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The team’s effort will be on keeping the playoff hopes alive by winning the match.
