Rewa-Sidhi tunnel special achievement: Shivraj

Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh (Madhya Pradesh) Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today said that the construction of the country’s fourth longest tunnel in Rewa is a special achievement. Chouhan said during a discussion with reporters today before the inauguration of this tunnel in Rewa district by Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari that this tunnel is India’s widest and Madhya Pradesh’s longest tunnel. Rewa being the fourth longest tunnel in India is a special achievement. He said that along with this, Asia’s largest Ultra Mega Solar Project of 750 MW capacity is also going on in Rewa.

Chouhan said that two tunnels have been made by cutting Mohania Valley. Two tunnels of 3-3 lanes have been made in Churhat bypass, which are connected at 7 places. In a tunnel, 3 vehicles will be able to pass simultaneously from one side. About 1000 crore rupees have been spent in making it. He said that a minor bridge, an over bridge, an aqueduct and a railway bridge along with several minor bridges and culverts have been constructed in this project. Inter passing has been arranged at 7 places between the two to facilitate the traffic. This work has been completed 6 months ahead of schedule. CCTV cameras are also installed inside the tunnel.

Also has fans and fire control system. State-of-the-art lighting has been arranged. Calling system facility has also been provided for emergency contact. So that the rain water does not get filled, drains with both facilities have been constructed and in this channel made by mixing cement and soil in concrete, the water will filter into a pool. Chief Minister Chouhan informed that the distance between Rewa and Sidhi will be reduced by seven kilometers and the vehicles will get relief from the winding and difficult turns and descents of Mohania valley. What used to take 30 or 35 minutes to cross the valley will take only 3 to 5 minutes.
