Ranil Wickremesingh comes again

Both his rivals are silent on Ranil Wickremesingh’s victory in Sri Lanka’s presidential election, but demonstrations have started against him in the capital Colombo. Normally the math was that angry members of the ruling party of the Rajapaksa-family would vote against Ranil and Parliament would replace another leader with the presidency, but Ranil got a clear majority.

This means that one is the rift in the ruling party, but it has not widened enough to drown the party-candidates and secondly, as Prime Minister, Ranil Wickremesingh has inspired India and many international organizations so much in the last few weeks. It was done that Sri Lanka was given billions of rupees. Help was coming. Anyway, Ranil has been the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka six times. With such an experienced leader now becoming the President, maybe Sri Lanka can get out of the current crisis.

This belief has won him but his path ahead is very thorny. One is that all the rebel people of Sri Lanka are assuming that they are devotees of the Rajapaksa family. They will work according to what they say. That is why now the anger of the public will be more intense than before. The leaders who have lost to him will not remain without instigating the people, although they have accepted their defeat humbly. It is quite clear that if the people of Sri Lanka were voters in the presidential election, Ranil Wickremesingh’s bail would have been forfeited.

Now it remains to be seen how Wickremesingha solves the current problems of Sri Lanka and how he pacifies the anger of the people. Don’t know who will make him the prime minister now? If he can make an opposition leader like Sajith Premdas the prime minister at this point of time, he will probably have to face political storms less. Sajith had also withdrawn his name from the election of the President.

If this is possible, then an all-party and all-inclusive cabinet can be formed in Sri Lanka, which will also be able to quell the general opposition and find a solution to the current crisis. As far as India is concerned, India’s role in this Presidential election has been quite fair. So far, it has given about four billion dollars in aid to Sri Lanka and it is still determined to get its neighboring nation out of trouble.
