PM Modi arrives in Nagpur to lay the foundation stone of several projects, flags off Vande Bharat Express

Nagpur. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the first phase of the ‘Samridhi Mahamarg’ connecting Nagpur and Shirdi and flag off the Vande Bharat Express during his visit to Maharashtra’s Nagpur city on Sunday. Officials said Modi will inaugurate the first phase of Nagpur Metro and lay the foundation stone of its second phase and dedicate to the nation an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the city.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) had issued a statement in New Delhi saying that Modi would lay the foundation stone and inaugurate projects worth Rs 75,000 crore during his visit to Nagpur. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the Prime Minister will launch rail projects worth over Rs 1,500 crore at a public function in Vidarbha. Modi will also lay the foundation stone of National Institute of Forest Health (NIO) and Nag River Pollution Abatement Project there. In addition, he will inaugurate the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET) and the Center for Hemoglobinopathies Research, Management and Control.

According to the tentative itinerary shared by the local administration, the Prime Minister will reach Nagpur’s Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport from New Delhi at 9.40 am on Sunday and then proceed to the city’s railway station, where he will board the Vande Bharat flight between Nagpur and Bilaspur. Will flag off the express. As per the schedule, Modi will participate in various programs organized in the city during the day before leaving for Goa.

Around 4,000 police personnel will be deployed in the security arrangements in view of Modi’s visit to the city, a senior police official said. He said that Quick Reaction Team, Riot Control Police and Home Guard personnel would assist these policemen in maintaining security. Officials said around 1,000 policemen would be deployed in the AIIMS campus alone.
