Oops! Indian-origin student murdered in America

Washington. Indian-origin Indianapolis resident Varun Manish Chheda, 20, was murdered in the hostel of a university campus in the US state of Indiana. NBC News quoted Purdue University police chief Lesley Vite as saying that a Korean student who lived with her was arrested on Wednesday.

Indianapolis resident Varun Manish Chheda was found dead at Macchion Hall on the west end of Purdue University campus, police said on Wednesday. VT told a news conference that Ji Min ‘Jimmy’ Sha, a Korean student studying cyber security, called 911 service late Tuesday at 12.45 pm and informed the police about Varun’s death. However, he did not provide additional details about the call. Authorities said the incident took place in a room on the first floor of Maccheon Hall.

Varun was studying data science at Purdue University. According to the preliminary post-mortem report, Varun died of “multiple fatal injuries” and is suspected to have been murdered. According to Fox News, police chief Vete said he believed the attack was “unprovoked”.

Varun’s childhood friend Arunabh Sinha told ‘NBC News’ that Varun was chatting online with his friends and playing games on Tuesday night when he heard a sudden scream on the call. Arunabh told that he was not playing with friends that night, but the rest of the friends told him that they heard the sound of the attack but could not understand what happened there and when they woke up on Wednesday morning, they found Varun dead. Got the news.

Vete said 22-year-old Sha was taken into custody minutes after 911 service was called and taken to the police station for further questioning.
