Lucknow. Nine people on board were killed and several others were seriously injured when a tractor-trolley full of people going for mundan rites overturned in a pond in Lucknow’s Itaunja area. There were about 45 people on the tractor-trolley.
District Magistrate Suryapal Gangwar said that some people from Sitapur were going to Unai Devi temple for the mundan rites. He told that on the way the tractor-trolley overturned in a pond near Gaddinpurwa of Itaunja area, due to which the people on it got buried under it. He said that efforts are on to identify the dead. He said that 10 people were said to be seriously injured in the accident. He has been sent to the hospital.
Gangwar said that after getting information, he and other senior administrative and police officials reached the spot and instructed to provide high-level treatment to the injured in the accident. SDRF team has been called to expedite the rescue work. (Language)
