The long-awaited partnership between Ganni and New Balance has finally arrived. This marks the second season of their collaboration, featuring the New Balance RC30 and 1906 R models.
The new collection made its debut on August 10 during Copenhagen Fashion Week 2024. To celebrate its success, the two brands held a closing party for the event.
New Balance, based in Boston, aimed to establish a strong creative connection with the luxury brand Ganni. The launch showcased three distinctive designs that highlighted Ganni’s designers’ creativity.
The 1906 R model displays the designers’ imaginative skills with yellow and white uppers, while the R30 model keeps it simple with black and yellow tones.
On August 16, Ganni released the sneakers on their website, while New Balance introduced the 1906 R iteration on August 18.

New Balance and Ganni present fresh colorways in their new collection, including Egret and a vibrant blazing yellow.
During Copenhagen Fashion Week 2024, Ganni’s models rocked the NB 1906 R version along with transparent black and white socks. The lace also featured stone patchwork for added flair, and the collaboration was celebrated at the Apollo Bar with music by Armaan Nafeei.
This collaboration is built on three core principles: ‘Commitment to creativity,’ ‘Responsibility,’ and ‘Passion for pushing boundaries.’ These values align perfectly with the Danish brand Ganni, forming the foundation of this collaboration.
Lauren Fitzsimmons, NB’s marketing manager, expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership, saying, “At New Balance, we’re thrilled to collaborate with GANNI once again; our brands share a natural connection and a shared vision of bold creativity. Our second collaboration retains the same audacity as the first but tells a completely new story. We’re excited for consumers to experience this new iteration!”
Ganni’s creative director Ditte Reffstrup, the counterpart in this collaboration, added, “We’re incredibly excited about launching our second collaboration with the New Balance team. We’ve had a blast working on this project, as there’s a wonderful creative synergy between us, along with mutual respect for each other’s contributions. Collaborating is a great source of energy for me; I enjoy collaborating with others to reach new creative heights together. I can’t wait to dance in these shoes!”
The collection features three sneakers from the R30 trainer model and the 1906 R. The R30 model showcases a mix of yellow and black on the upper, featuring the iconic N logo in a different color. The 1906 R iteration comes in two color options: Egret and a vibrant blazing yellow. In this version, the N logo is incorporated in a cut-out pattern.
Additional Information on New Balance x Ganni’s Collaboration
Brooklyn-based cartoonist Suerynn Lee crafted lively moments for the billboard campaign, drawing inspiration from Ganni’s creative director Ditte Reffstrup and NB ambassador Coco Gauff. The billboards will be displayed in London, New York, and Copenhagen.
In 2022, these two brands joined forces for the first time, launching an environmentally friendly collection in subtle colors. Since August 16, Ganni has been offering the new collection at selected stores and online, while New Balance introduced only the 1906 iteration. The suggested retail price is $170.
