Life imprisonment for SIMI terrorists who escaped from jail

Bhopal, A special judge of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has sentenced SIMI terrorists to life imprisonment in connection with the escaping from Khandwa jail in Madhya Pradesh (MP). Nearly 9 years later, four terrorists have been sentenced.

According to the information received, Special Judge Raghuvir Patel sentenced 4 SIMI terrorists to this sentence. Abu Faisal, Irfan Nagori, Umer Dandoti and Mohd. Sadiq (Md Sadiq) has been given this sentence. All these terrorists had escaped from Khandwa jail by climbing the wall. In the case, the ATS presented the challan against nine people in the Special Court (NIA). Other accused were absconding. The absconding accused had died in the police encounter. The court convicted four accused, while four were acquitted.
