The Central Government has approved the delimitation of municipal seats in Delhi and its notification will be issued soon. Along with this, the reservation of seats is also likely to be announced, after which the way for the elections will be cleared. Keep in mind that elections have not yet been announced in Gujarat and can be announced any day after Diwali.
Significantly, by merging all the three municipal corporations of Delhi, a single body of two hundred and fifty seats has been formed. Delimitation of seats was done for this, the report of which has been approved. Due to the process of merger and delimitation of the three corporations, the municipal elections were postponed. The election was postponed on the day the elections were announced. But now it looks like elections will be announced soon. With the approval of delimitation and the process of reservation speeding up, political events are also happening at a rapid pace. One problem with the immediate announcement of elections is that Congress has challenged the delimitation in court.
It is reported that the Bharatiya Janata Party has asked all the leaders of Delhi to come back to Delhi from Gujarat, who had gone there for campaigning. Delhi BJP leaders campaigning in Himachal are also being called back. Meanwhile, meetings and meetings of top BJP leaders have intensified in Delhi. Recently, the party’s national president JP Nadda held a meeting with the leaders of Delhi BJP, in which there was a discussion about the election preparations. Informed sources of BJP say that if the municipal elections are held in Delhi now, then the party has three advantages. The first advantage is that Aam Aadmi Party supremo and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will leave Gujarat and get entangled in Delhi. The focus of Punjab Chief Minister and other big leaders will also be on Delhi. With this they will come out of Gujarat. The second advantage will be that the Aam Aadmi Party is not yet ready for the elections in Delhi, while the preparations for the BJP have been done. So sudden announcement of election will not give you time to prepare. The third advantage is that the wind that is being created by the Gujarat elections will be benefitted in Delhi. The BJP is fighting the elections of Gujarat and Himachal in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the party has made it clear that the Delhi Municipal Corporation elections will also be fought in the name of Modi. That’s when Amit Shah said in his speech that although there is a AAP government in Delhi, but Modiji is above, so the work of Delhi will not stop.
