Police crackdown on seven land mafia in Bareilly

Bareilly. In Uttar Pradesh, the Bareilly district administration has declared seven people involved in cases of government land occupation, misappropriation and horse-trading as land mafia. The Bareilly Development Authority has lodged an FIR at Izzatnagar police station on five of these.

Police arrested three identified land mafia and presented them in the competent court on Tuesday afternoon and sent them to jail. District Magistrate Shivakant Dwivedi had declared seven people as land mafia on the report of BDA, Revenue and other related departments, which included famous land traders and builders like Alliance Builders Firm Director Ramandeep and Amandeep. Barring these two, the BDA lodged an FIR against the other five. Police have arrested three of the five land mafia Dalwinder Singh, Salim Ahmed, Zulfiqar Ahmed. On Tuesday afternoon, these three accused land mafia were presented in the competent court and were sent to jail from there. Police are raiding in search of the other two.

According to sources, two prominent land traders and well-known builders Ramandeep Singh and Amandeep Singh, who were left out in the FIR, are also being clamped down. Shri Dwivedi informed that the BDA has written an FIR against the names that have come up in the matter of selling the ceiling land. If other people are also found involved in the investigation, their names will also be added to the FIR. BDA vice-president Joginder Singh said that an FIR has been registered against him in the police station, who are involved in selling and buying the ceiling land.
