Gujarat Election: BJP’s big action before the election, suspended seven rebel leaders

Ahmedabad. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Gujarat on Sunday suspended seven of its leaders, including two former MLAs, for filing nomination papers as independent candidates for the upcoming state assembly elections. The seats on which these seven leaders are contesting, There will be voting in the first phase on December 1.

After not getting ticket from BJP, these people have filed nomination papers as independent candidates. the party 2012 Arvind Ladani, who won from the Keshod constituency and Harshad Vasava from the Nandod ST-reserved seat, were suspended after they filed their nomination papers as independents on these seats. The party also suspended Surendranagar district panchayat member Chhatarsinh Gunjariya, who filed nomination papers as an independent from Dhrangadhra seat.

Ketan Patel among other suspended leaders, Bharat Chavda, Featuring Uday Shah and Karan Baraiya, who respectively pardi, Rajkot, Has filed his nomination papers as an independent candidate from Veraval and Rajula seats.

BJP said in a release, These leaders have filed their nomination papers as independent candidates against the candidates declared by the party. He is being suspended on the instructions of state BJP president CR Patil.

Many BJP leaders expressed displeasure over not getting tickets and announced to contest as independents. Madhu Srivastava, a six-time MLA from Waghodia, has also filed nomination papers as an independent after being denied a party ticket. BJP has fielded Ashwin Patel from this seat.
