The bright luck of these uncapped players, made a place in the team, beating the veterans

Uncapped Retained IPL Players: A total of 27 players have been retained in the retention of IPL 2022. In these, all 8 franchises have included their match winner players in the team. RCB retained superstars like Virat Kohli, CSK MS Dhoni, MI Rohit Sharma in the team. Along with this, young stars like Suryakumar Yadav, Sanju Samson, Rishabh Pant and Prithvi Shaw have also been selected. The released players will be auctioned early next year. Whereas the new teams of Lucknow and Ahmedabad will be given a chance to choose 3-3 players first.

In this retention process, along with experienced and young players, four uncapped but impressive players have also been able to make a place in their respective team. For the uncapped players, the IPL had prepared a maximum slot of four crores. For franchises, it seems like a wise decision to include uncapped players in the team at a low cost in the purse of 90 crores. With this, he will be able to spend more amount from his purse for the upcoming IPL auction.

The four uncapped players retained in IPL 2022 retention are as follows –

1- Yashasvi Jaiswal (Rajasthan Royals)

RR’s 19-year-old opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has played some stellar innings for his team last season. After a stellar performance in the Under-19 World Cup of the year 2020, Rajasthan Royals bought him in the IPL 2020 auction for 2.4 crores. Was the Player of the Tournament of the Under-19 World Cup. Looking at his bright future, the franchise has retained him in the team for 4 crores.

2- Abdul Samad (Sunrisers Hyderabad)

Jammu and Kashmir’s 20-year-old all-rounder Abdul Samad was bought by SRH in the IPL 2020 auction and included in the team. This right-handed player has earned a name while playing for the Jammu and Kashmir team in domestic cricket. Even though he was given less chances to play in the IPL, he has managed to make an impact in the matches played in the last two seasons.

3- Arshdeep Singh (Punjab Kings)

Arshdeep Singh, 22, coming from Madhya Pradesh is a right-arm medium fast bowler. In the year 2018, he was included in the Indian team for the Under-19 World Cup. After which Punjab Kings (then Kings XI Punjab) bought him in the auction before IPL 2019. He was the second highest wicket-taker for his team that season. In June 2021, he went on a tour of Sri Lanka with the Indian team as a net bowler. However, his dream of playing for Team India has not been fulfilled yet.

4- Umran Malik (Sunrisers Hyderabad)

Right-arm fast bowler Umran Malik is the second player in this list to come from Jammu and Kashmir. He was included in the team by SRH last season as a Kovid-19 replacement. In a match against RCB, he came into the limelight for bowling five consecutive balls at a speed of more than 150 kmph. Sunrisers Hyderabad retained him for Rs 4 crore before IPL 2022 Mega Auction.
