Free teacher training program for teachers at JIBS Srinagar

Srinagar. Professor of Eminence (Dr.) Sanjeev P. Sahney, Principal Director of Jindal Institute of Behavioral Sciences (JIBS) and Vice President of World Society of Victimology (WSV) at Amar Singh Club, Srinagar. Organized a teacher training program on ‘Emotional Well-being and Stress Management’ for school headmasters, teachers and counselors at a gathering of teachers in the Over 150 teachers from 30 schools in the area attended the session on Saturday, stressing the importance of maintaining a right work-life balance by incorporating stress management techniques such as mindfulness, meditation and physical exercise. Our target audience includes teachers, school leaders and administrators from diverse schools across India, as well as other low and middle income countries such as Indonesia, Kenya, Nigeria, Sri Lanka. It is pertinent to mention that the premier teacher training programs organized by Dr. Sawhney have received international recognition, with the current module being shortlisted for the renowned Wharton-QS Quacquarelli Symonds Sustainability Education Awards. It is ranked in the top 12 percent of innovations worldwide. To date, Dr. Sawhney and his team of researchers from JIBS have trained more than 1,80,000 teachers and school administrators in more than 8,000 schools around the world. Dr. Sawhney said we implement an unexplored approach inspired by the context of higher education using a flexible environment, learning culture, intensive content and professional educators (FLIP) model.

To help teachers and school staff practice concrete stress management techniques, these teacher training programs are available in countries such as the UAE, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Bulgaria and the Maldives apart from India. have also been conducted in different schools of the countries. The scope of these training programs is being expanded to train teachers to deal with disorders such as dyspraxia or Developmental Coordination Disorders (DCD). Dr Sahni said that we have also developed our free training module to cover relevant subjects in our endeavor to reach out to the remotest schools of the country.
