Patna. Bihar Legislative Assembly today passed five bills including the Bihar State University Service Commission (Amendment) Bill 2022. Education minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary on Monday sought the approval of the House for the Bihar State University Service Commission (Amendment) Bill 2022 in the Vidhan Sabha, saying that it is necessary to increase the retirement age of the chairman of the commission. The idea of bringing an amendment bill was taken. He said that as per the existing provision, the retirement age of the members of the commission is 70 years while for the chairman it is 72 years.
Chowdhary said that it is known to all that a large number of posts of teachers are lying vacant in the universities and colleges of the state. He said that filling up of vacancies is of utmost importance to ensure quality education in universities and colleges.
