Celebration in Pakistan after win over India: After breaking the 12-match losing streak against India in the ICC World Cup, Pakistan’s cricket fans took to the streets to celebrate and there was a lot of fireworks all over the country. Pakistan defeated India by ten wickets in the first match of the T20 World Cup in Dubai.
Excited fans blew car horns and burst firecrackers in Karachi. Here large screens were installed in public places and after concessions in Corona restrictions, arrangements were made to broadcast the match in hotels as well. In some places, the police have also registered incidents of aerial firing in celebration of victory. Prime Minister and 1992 World Cup winning former captain Imran Khan tweeted, “Congratulations to the Pakistan team and especially Babar Azam who led from the front. Rizwan and Shaheen Shah Afridi also performed brilliantly. The country is proud of you.

Pakistan Cricket Board President Rameez Raja tweeted, ‘Alhamdulillah. This is the first win and also the most memorable. Proud moment for Pakistanis for which thanks to the entire team. This is the beginning of a memorable journey. Pakistani fans waved flags from car windows. Farhan, a college student, said, ‘We have not only defeated India in the World Cup for the first time, but the way in which we have defeated it is commendable.’ Before the match, there was a desolation on the streets of Karachi but as soon as the match was over, the procession started.

The army chief also congratulated the team and said that the country is proud of them. Former Test spinner Iqbal Qasim said, ‘I thought Pakistan can win this match but we are surprised by such a one-sided victory.’
Bilateral cricket relations between India and Pakistan have been closed since the terrorist attack on Mumbai. Pakistan toured India in 2012 for a brief limited-overs series but the two teams have only faced each other in ICC tournaments and the Asia Cup.
