Fever of Haryana has been presented with complete truth in the film ‘Haryana’: Ashlesha Sawant

“Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi” was a very popular serial. You too got a lot of fame from it. Despite this, you could not find the place you were supposed to get?

Your question is very interesting. When I did ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’, there was a long army of actors in it. There was no lead in this serial. Every character was defined. Every character had importance. When you play the lead character, then there is more attention of the people on that one character and artist. His shades are also very positive. But when you play a parallel character, your character has a lot of opportunities to do. Such characters also keep on being positive and negative. But your question is very valid and important. Because we see success in TRP and name. The viewer must have felt that he did not do the lead character. It has played a parallel character. So it’s their thinking, not mine. I had a lot of fun while working. After that I acted in many serials including ‘Saat Phere’.

Why did it take so long to move from TV to movies?

Somewhere after some time, the inner hunger of the artist is consumed by television. The artist gets so much comfort while working in TV for a long time that he gets lost in it. So I too was lost in the TV, but not so much that I could not find myself. I want to keep doing TV till I die. So I also woke up one day and I did the film ‘Haryana’. In which my character is small, but its presence in the story is mandatory. People will get a lesson from this film and my character. So somewhere I thank Surekha ji for following what she taught me, I am moving forward continuously.
