Research has also revealed that in most cases, this fake Telegram app gets installed in the phone through a link on an email or a phishing website.

Creates folder in phone

The report states that the fake Telegram app enters a compiled AutoIt (a freeware BASIC-like scripting language) script near the installer. It’s called “Telegram Desktop.exe”. This is the first phase of the attack. After this, this malware creates a new folder named “TextInputh” in the phone.
