Massive Drone Attack on Russian Fleet

moscow, Russia has accused Ukraine of carrying out massive drone strikes on the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in the port city of Sivastopol in Crimea. Nine air and nine sea drones carried out the attacks at 4:20 am local time. Sivastopol is the largest city in Crimea, which Russia took over by Ukraine in 2014.

According to the BBC report, at least one warship was destroyed in this attack, although no information has been given by Ukraine in this regard yet. The city’s Russian governor, Mikhail Razvozev, said the Russian Navy had retaliated well to the attack. Russian media quoted the governor as saying that it was the deadliest attack since February 24 by Russia against Ukraine. He said all the unmanned aerial bombers were shot down and no civilian structures were damaged in the action.

He said the ship suffered minor damage in the attack on the Svestopol ship’s anchorage. Four marine bombers were shot down and three other attackers were also destroyed. Russia claimed that the attack on Saturday morning was carried out as part of an international initiative to transport agricultural products worldwide by Ukrainian ships. The agreement, brokered by the United Nations and Turkey, allowed Ukraine to resume grain exports from the Black Sea that had been disrupted after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. On the other hand, Russia had complained that the matter of exporting goods is also stuck. Ukraine says Russia deliberately delayed the evacuation of the ships.
