New South Wales Police said in a statement that the woman met the man after chatting online on a dating app. It is alleged that the man sexually assaulted the woman on this Wednesday, November 2. As part of the investigation, a crime scene examination was also conducted at the Rose Bay residence on the previous day. Apart from this, a 31-year-old man was arrested from a hotel located on Sussex Street in Sydney late Sunday at 1 pm. Following which the accused was taken to Sydney City Police Station where four cases were registered against him for having sex without consent. Gunatilaka was ruled out of the T20 World Cup during the first round due to a hamstring injury. But he remained with the team in Australia. He has played eight Tests, 47 ODIs and 46 T20Is for Sri Lanka since making his international debut in November 2015. Sri Lanka’s campaign in the tournament came to an end on Sunday after losing their final group match against England at the SCG.
