Congress’s taunt on employment fair

New Delhi. The Congress on Saturday termed the government’s ‘job fair’ as ‘eventbaazi’ of the ‘jumla king’ and asked when the promise of providing 16 crore jobs to the youth of the country would be fulfilled.

Congress General Secretary Randeep Surjewala said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised to provide two crore jobs every year if he came to power, which was not fulfilled in the last eight years. He said that the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ has passed through only four states and the government has to accept that unemployment is the biggest problem of the country.

Describing it as the biggest achievement of ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’, Surjewala tweeted, ‘As of now India Jodo Yatra has passed through only four states, after all ‘Jumla King’ was forced by Rahul ji to believe that unemployment is the biggest problem of the country. There is a big problem.’ He said, do eventbaazi nahi rozgar do.

Surjewala said that Prime Minister Modi should tell by when will you give 16 crore jobs, as you had promised to provide two crore jobs every year in the last eight years. In a video posted on Twitter, he said, by when will these 16 crore jobs be provided and 30 lakh vacancies in government departments will be filled. The Prime Minister will have to answer to the youth of the country.

Surjewala said that the Congress would keep asking the prime minister the question as to when the jobs would be given as promised. “Just by giving 70,000 appointment letters, things will not work,” he said. The youth of the country want jobs and the Prime Minister has to answer for it. During the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Rahul Gandhi and Congress will keep asking this question to the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Modi on Saturday launched the ‘Rojgar Mela’, a campaign to recruit 10 lakh people. He said that the government is working towards mitigating the economic problems faced by many countries around the world after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Addressing a ‘Rojgar Mela’ after distributing 75,000 appointment letters among the candidates seeking government jobs, Modi said that the central government is also working on several fronts to create maximum employment opportunities for the youth. Under the recruitment drive, 50 union ministers will hand over appointment letters to around 20,000 people at various places across the country. (Language)
