Tejashwi’s bail will continue

New Delhi, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav’s appeal for cancellation of bail has been rejected by the court for allegedly threatening CBI officials. Tejashwi Yadav’s bail will continue but at the same time the court warned him to refrain from making such statements. It is worth noting that Tejashwi Yadav has got bail in the alleged scam related to Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation, IRCTC. The CBI had appealed for cancellation of this bail.

The matter was heard in the court on Tuesday. During this, the CBI read out the statement given by Tejashwi in the press conference and said that the CBI was threatened so that the investigation could be affected. After hearing the entire argument of both the sides, the court warned Tejashwi Yadav and said in a questioning tone – should such statements be made while being the Deputy CM? The court said- We are not canceling the bail, there is no basis for this. At the same time, the judge cautioned and said – you will not make any such statement in future. If speaking in public further, choose the right words.

Tejashwi’s lawyer has demanded the court to dismiss the CBI’s application with fine. He said it was not a threat. The allegation of CBI is wrong. In fact Tejashwi Yadav had said in a press conference in Patna – Do CBI officers not have mothers, sisters and children? Don’t they have a family? Will he always be a CBI officer? Won’t he retire? Will only this party remain in power? What message do you want to convey? You must faithfully perform the duty of constitutional organization. Based on this statement, the CBI appealed for cancellation of Tejashwi’s bail. On this, the court had asked him to appear in person.
