BJP ahead in four seats in the early trends of assembly by-elections

New Delhi. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) made an early lead in four seats in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Odisha and Bihar in the by-elections being held on Sunday in seven assembly seats in six states, while Telangana’s The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is leading in Munugode.

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) is leading in Bihar’s Mokama constituency while Shiv Sena’s (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) candidate Rutuja Latke has taken a comfortable lead in the first phase of counting of votes for the Andheri (East) seat in Mumbai.

The TRS candidate has maintained a marginal lead over his nearest BJP rival in the by-election to Munugode assembly seat in Telangana. After three phases of counting, TRS candidate got 21,589 votes while BJP candidate got 21,174 votes. The Congress candidate got only 5,563 votes.

In Haryana’s Adampur Assembly constituency, BJP candidate Bhavya Bishnoi is leading over his nearest rival and Congress candidate Jayaprakash by 10,228 votes after five phases of counting. As per the trends, Bhavya Bishnoi has got 28,669 votes while Congress’s Jaiprakash has got 18,441 votes.

BJP candidate Aman Giri has taken an easy lead of around 25,000 votes over his nearest rival in the counting of votes for the Gola Gokarnath Assembly seat in Uttar Pradesh. Officials said after 18 phases of counting that Giri got 73,371 votes while Samajwadi Party’s Vinay Tiwari got 48,739 votes.

BJP candidate Suryavanshi Suraj has a lead of 3,261 votes over Biju Janata Dal (BJD) candidate and her nearest rival Ambati Das in Dhamnagar bypoll in Bhadrak district of Odisha, according to Election Commission trends. According to the commission, Suraj has secured 18,181 votes and Das 14,920 after the first four rounds of counting. On the other hand, Congress candidate Baba Harekrishna Sethi got 557 votes.

In the early trends of counting of votes for the by-elections of two assembly constituencies in Bihar, RJD has taken lead in Mokama seat and BJP in Gopalganj seat. According to commission trends, RJD candidate Neelam Devi is leading over BJP candidate Sonam Devi by 12,152 votes in Mokama after preliminary round of counting. In Gopalganj, BJP’s Kusum Devi is leading by 637 votes over RJD candidate Mohan Prasad Gupta.

Shiv Sena’s (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) candidate Rituja Latke has maintained an easy lead after counting of votes for the by-elections in Mumbai’s Andheri (East) assembly seat. An official said that out of 5,624 votes polled so far, Latte got 4,277 votes. The by-elections to these seven assembly seats were held on November 3. (Language)
