IPL 2021: Before the start of the second part of the Indian Premier League season 14, there has been a big change in the team of Punjab Kings. England’s star batsman David Malan has decided not to play in the second part of IPL 14. As a replacement for Malan, Punjab Kings have signed South African star batsman Adem Markram.

Punjab Kings issued a statement announcing Markram’s joining the team. Punjab Kings said, “Punjab Kings have included South African cricketer Aiden Markram in the team before the resumption of the Indian Premier League in 2021.”

Punjab Kings also informed about David Malan not playing. “Markram will replace David Malan, who is taking some time off to be with his family ahead of the T20 World Cup and the Ashes series,” the franchise said.

6 players of England have withdrawn

Malan, however, is not the only player from England who has decided not to play in the second half of IPL 14. Three England players Chris Woakes, Jos Buttler and David Malan have withdrawn to prepare for next month’s T20 World Cup.

Playing in IPL would mean that these players would have to stay away from home for a long time. Immediately after the IPL, the T20 World Cup will begin in the UAE. Along with this, strict rules of quarantine in UAE can also be a reason for these players to withdraw from IPL 14. Three more England players, Butler, Stokes and Archer have decided not to play in the second part of IPL 14 due to different reasons.
