Why not ban RSS!

Lucknow. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) President and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati has reacted sharply to the central government’s ban on the Islamic organization Popular Front of India (PFI), calling it motivated by political selfishness and Sangh appeasement. And also supported the demand for a ban on the RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh).

The BSP chief tweeted on Friday that after the nationwide action taken by the Center against the People’s Front of India (PFI), it has finally banned eight of its affiliates, including PFI, ahead of the assembly elections. People are considering it as a policy of political selfishness and union appeasement and they have less satisfaction and more restlessness.

Mayawati said in her silsilwar tweet that this is the reason why the opposition parties are angry and attacking on this issue considering the government’s intentions and the demand for banning the RSS is also being openly if PFI is a threat to the internal security of the country. So why shouldn’t other organizations like that be banned?

According to the gazetted notification, eight partner organizations of PFI – Rehab India Foundation, Campus Front of India, All India Imam Council, National Confederation of Human Rights Organization, National Women Front, Junior Front, Empower India Foundation and Rehab Foundation, Kerala are also named. They are included in the list of organizations that have been banned under the UAPA i.e. Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. (Language)
