Vijay Hazare Trophy: Dinesh Karthik and Washington Sundar return in Tamil Nadu team

Vijay Hazare Trophy: Tamil Nadu on Tuesday included veteran wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik and all-rounder Washington Sundar in their 20-man squad for the Vijay Hazare Trophy cricket tournament. Karthik could not take part in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 tournament due to injury, which Tamil Nadu won on Monday.

Vijay Shankar will be the captain

Washington Sundar, on the other hand, has been out from the tour of England in the first half of this year due to injury and was undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.

Tamil Nadu has been placed in Elite Group B for the Vijay Hazare Trophy and the team will play its opening match in Thiruvananthapuram. The team will start its campaign against Mumbai on December 8.

T Natarajan did not get the place

According to the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association’s press release, the team will be led by all-rounder Vijay Shankar while opener N Jagadeesan has been appointed as the vice-captain. The team won the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy under the leadership of Vijay Shankar. T Natarajan, who played the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy while returning from injury, has not been included in the team.
