Lucknow. Samajwadi Party candidate Dimple Yadav filed her nomination papers for the by-election to the Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat on Monday afternoon.

Dimple (44) with her husband and Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav, party general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav and former Mainpuri MP Tej Pratap Yadav at the time of nomination at the District Magistrate’s office in Mainpuri. were present.

Before the nomination, Dimple also took blessings of party general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav by touching his feet. Before filing nomination, Dimple said that she dedicates today’s nomination to the principles and values ​​of Mulayam Singh Yadav.

In a tweet, Dimple Yadav said, “With warm regards to Netaji, we dedicate today’s nomination to his principles and values. Netaji’s blessings have always been with all of us, always will be. The bypolls to the Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat will be held on December 5 and the results will be declared on December 8. The filing of nominations for the by-election has started and November 17 is the last date for filing nominations.

The Mainpuri parliamentary seat fell vacant after the death of Mulayam Singh Yadav on October 10. The BJP has not yet announced the name of its candidate for this seat.

Dimple Yadav contested from Kannauj in 2019 against BJP candidate Subrata Pathak. He had to face defeat in the election. Mainpuri parliamentary constituency consists of five assembly constituencies – Mainpuri, Bhogaon, Kishni, Karhal and Jaswant Nagar. In the 2022 assembly elections, the SP won the Karhal, Kishni and Jaswant Nagar seats, while the BJP won the Mainpuri and Bhogaon seats. (Language)
