Lucknow. The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has decided to recruit sportspersons as Civil Police through the UP Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB). UPPRPB has taken out 534 vacancies exclusively for sportspersons. This includes 335 posts for men and 199 posts for women. All the posts are of constable in civil police.
DG UPPRPB, R.K. Vishwakarma said that the criteria for applying under the sports quota can be availed by those people who have passed 12th from any recognized board and have attained the age of 18 years and Should not be more than 22 years. He must have represented himself in National level Games, National Championship, Federation Cup, University level and also in National Police Sports Meet.
The DG said a specific number of seats have been reserved in sports categories, which include water sports, volleyball, handball, kabaddi, football, shooting, cycling, archery, badminton and others. In 2016, 200 seats were earmarked under sports quota by UPPRPB, which received only 25 applications.
